Wee Cottage at Erie Commons – Architecture

The following project is a sample of some of the typical projects created at Norris Design. As Project Manager, I lead the effort that helped push our ability to render in real-time using Unreal Engine. This project has a mix of fully modeled assets along with models provided by Architects that needed converting or reconstruction to work properly inside of Unreal Engine. I created all materials/texturing and lighting. Props such as furniture are also a mix of paid-for models, downloaded models from the manufacturer and converted adding textures, or hand-modeled in-house if the item was unavailable elsewhere. And Finally the same goes for all foliage with about half being common assets we reused and half being custom assets created in Speed Tree for unique flora.

This is another project where we were not only tasked with modeling all the homes and texturing them as well, but this entire project is fully playable on desktop or in VR. The reasoning for this was to help better understand the scale of these very compact home and community spaces. This is about as high density as separated single-family homes get.
